Donna Young is a really great place for all homeschoolers. I happened onto this site about a week ago when I started to try to simplify our learning style and items we use for learning. Now I am going through the site with a fine tooth comb to see what we can use.

If anyone has hit the rut like we have, take a break and do a little surfing to see what you can come up with like I did. You never know what you will find.

Planning My New School Year

OK I think I have hit a rut, I have to find ways to simplify my homeschooling. We are in our third year and this year we have definitely bitten off more than we can finish this year.

So next week we are just doing fun arts and crafts and reading. No regular learning, we need a week of doing fun things. Then during the week off for break, I am going to figure out what exactly has to be taught for the youngest for the fall term and find simple and easy way to teach and learn those things. I am going to try to ditch the workbooks, and find other ways to teach the things. We have fallen back to workbooks this year. And the youngest and I both hate them.

Monthly Organization

Well I have made my New Years Goals-- My first one has been met.
I organized my kitchen and pantry. It looks great and I am happy now that I can find things. Now if my kids would help out and put the dishes away where they actually belong instead of on my counters and stove. I would be so happy.
